In a practice that focused in large part on wage and hour collective and class action litigation defense, Theresa defended organizations of all sizes, in all industries, in state and federal courts across the United States. Theresa is admitted to the bars of Florida, Connecticut, and District of Columbia; she is also admitted to multiple federal district courts and courts of appeals.
Theresa is known for her passion for her work, attention to detail, and unmatched work ethic. With Shavitz Law Group, Theresa now represents individuals who have been treated unlawfully in the workplace, many of whom assert the same claims she used to defend against. Theresa uses her subject matter expertise and insider’s knowledge of how defendants and their attorneys think to zealously advocate on behalf of her clients.
Outside of work, Theresa has two main passions: kids and kitties. Theresa serves as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem in Hillsborough County, Florida, advocating for abused, neglected, and abandoned children in foster care. Theresa is also a long-time cat rescue volunteer. She is the proud “mom” to two rescues, and she volunteers with Tampa-based St. Francis Society Animal rescue, helping homeless kittens and cats find their forever homes.
